While everyone has been watching their brackets get busted with all the major upsets, we’ve been flooding the TheEventGuide.com with new events. We have also been out and about exploring to give you ideas of what to do now that you don’t have to be glued to the tv!
This week is a little different because Jen’s son Zack and his girlfriend Mykayla are in town visiting from Colorado. We have been having fun showing them around the areas as well as having them attend our events.
We started off with hosting a special karaoke at Southport Tap and Cellar on Friday. It was a great turn out especially considering it was the day after St. Patrick’s Day! People were a little shy to sing at first so we broke the ice with some dancing and then after that, there was no stopping people from singing their hearts out!

After karaoke was a stop at Second Wind to see Jordan Oaks perform on his way back from the Keys. We had to stop and take a quick pic of one of our favorite people, Wendy from Second Wind!

Saturday we found ourselves at the Celtic Music Festival in Southport. The Celtic Music Festival was a free event at Franklin Square Park. Brunswick Arts Council put on a great day of celebrating all things Celtic. Storytelling, Dancing, Children’s Crafts, Highlands Games, and Live Music.

Another great thing to do in the Southport, Oak Island area is boating. Monday we took our guests out on the boat and cruised the ICW. We met up with our friend Austin who brought along some Jet Skis and we all had an amazing day on the water! We cruised the ICW and stopped for lunch at Ocean Isle Fish Company. It was a little cool outside but it was still a fun day. Take a lesson from Zack no matter if it’s hot out or cool, remember to always wear sunscreen! Jen’s favorite is always Sun Bum!

The rest of the week Zack and Mykayla got to see our Manic Monday Music Bingo and Jen’s trivia at The Lazy Turtle, Dave’s trivia at Moore Street Oyster Bar and tonight at Southport Tap and Cellar!
