We have had a very busy week, not that that’s anything new for us, but this week was extra busy. We love to get out and about as much as we can to see what is happening in the area.
Friday
This past week started with Friday night wine tasting at The Grape and Ale, with Debra Jacobs from 3 Keys Wine. At the tasting, we got to sample 5 different wines, from white to red and a chocolate dessert wine. It was great to see so many people out enjoying the fire and good company.
After wine tasting we headed over to Swain’s Seafood and Cut Restaurant for a delicious dinner of steaks and seafood. So good! Next we headed across the street to Second Wind to check out the band Parlay. What a treat! Let’s just say the dance floor was busy.

Saturday
Saturday was another big night. We attended the BeTheOneNC – Red, White and Blue Gala. BE THE ONE is a unique charity event designed to bring about suicide awareness and the affect it has on our military, first responders and law enforcement.
The event was a huge success raising $40,000 for the cause. It was a pleasure to see local heroes being honored and celebrated. One of the highlights was a country recording artist from Nashville Jordan Oaks preforming at the event. There was also a silent and live auction, great food and guest speakers.
After they gala Jordan Oaks and his band headed to Second Wind for the “Official Gala After Party” Jordan brought down the house, with his original songs and some well known covers. He drew such a crowd there was a line to get in, lets hope he will be back soon to perform again!
