Jen and Dave Try To Beat The Heat

Jen and Dave Try To Beat The Heat

Jen, Dave, Rob and Wendy

Saturday we headed to Second Wind early to celebrate Wendy’s birthday! It was an amazing time, so many people came out to honor Wendy with stories and songs. DJ Dirk kept the energy high with Wendy’s favorite music and karaoke tributes. There was so much wonderful food and great great people to talk with. After the party on the patio was over everyone headed inside to listen to The Doorsmen, what a great night!

Tuesday we had a private party to attend and even though it was sweltering, we had a wonderful time! It was a beautiful party and a gorgeous setting with more amazing food! We were able to catch the band Trifecta before we had to head out, they were spectacular! We absolutely enjoyed the variety of music they were playing.

Wednesday we stopped into Second Wind after Jen was done hosting trivia and met up with friends and got to see the band Backwood Music Society. They had a lot of fun music!

After Second Wind we headed to Paul’s OKI. Jen hadn’t had dinner yet so she ordered the Taylor Ham Sandwich and succotash. It was delicious! They also have a ton of beer and mixed drink options and they have just started serving frozen drinks so of course Jen had to try the Miami Vice. Soooo Good. The atmosphere at Paul’s is relaxed and welcoming. Play a game of skee-ball while you wait!

There are a lot of fun things going on this weekend including the Solstice By the Sea Festival in Middleton Park on Oak Island and the Solstice Film Festival in Southport!

Published by is the premier event calendar for Oak Island and Southport, North Carolina.
