We started off the weekend doing something new, we DJ’d a wedding! We were honored to be asked to DJ a wedding in Surf City and we had a blast doing it, and we killed it!
Saturday Jen, Rob and Monkey went to Southport to go to the 100th Anniversary of the Model T Fire Truck at the Southport Fire Dept. and The Cape Fear Cruisers car show. It was a great turn out and so much fun. The Southport Fire Department had a beautiful display of fire trucks, they were also selling food and the Southport Fire Department team were all out making sure everyone was having a great time, especially the kids. There was even a bounce house and huge inflatable slide!
The Back Porch Rockers were playing and had people dancing in the streets and were also helping to raise money for the fire department. Every time they are playing it’s going to be a great time, they have such a great variety of music and are so much fun!
This was a great event and it was amazing to see so many people for the community come out, this is the reason we moved to a small town in the first place. We even ran into Wendy from Second Wind! She said she came down because she “Saw it posted on TheEventGuide.com!”
And of course the beautiful 1922 Model T Fire Truck was out on display for everyone to get a close look at.
Saturday night we popped over to Second Wind to check out a band we have not seen before, Deep Creek Soul. They were fantastic and the large crowed really enjoyed them as well!
Monday after we finished hosting our Manic Monday Music Bingo at The Lazy Turtle in Oak Island, we stopped back in at Second Wind to check out karaoke with Dirk. WOW, there were some amazing singers!
There is so much fun going on be sure to visit TheEventGuide.com frequently to see updates to our calendar.
