Jen and Dave Look Forward to December!
As we enter December and the Holiday season, there is so much to look forward to doing in the area! We wanted to highlight just a few can’t miss events to put on your calendar.

This Weekend:
Saturday: The Christmas by the Sea Parade.
The parade starts off at 2:00 p.m. beginning on East Oak Island Drive in front of Town Hall and making it’s way eastward, ending at McGlamery Street. As always, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be the final float at the end of the parade waving to children and the young at heart as they drive by.
Next Weekend:
Saturday, Dec. 10
For the 28th year, the Southport Winterfest Flotilla, sponsored by Cape Fear Yacht Club, Downtown Southport, Inc., and the City of Southport will illuminate the waterfront. Bring chairs and blankets to enjoy the beauty of Christmas lights bouncing off the water on Saturday, December 10, 7 p.m. at the Southport Waterfront.
Next Sunday
Sunday, Dec. 11
TheEventGuide Build a gingerbread house event. Come build your very own gingerbread house to take home without all the mess. This is a ticketed event so be sure to get your tickets while they last. You will get everything you need to build your house, but you can also bring anything you want to add to your creation.
Mid December
We are teaming up with OKI Bike and Paddle again as we bike Oak Island collecting non-perishable food items for Matthew’s Ministry whose mission is to eliminate weekend and non-school day hunger for kids in Brunswick County.
We will start at OKI Bike and Paddle with a list of items needed and bike to local grocery or convenience stores purchasing those items.
You can do this alone or as a team! The route taken and amount purchased is completely up to you! Suggested donation is $10-$20. Meet back at OKI Bike and Paddle with your items where prizes will be awarded for fastest, most generous and ugliest sweater! Drifters and The Booze Buggy will be there serving festive food and drinks! All ebikes and bikes welcome!
