Jen and Dave – Holy Crap We Made an App!

Jen and Dave – Holy Crap We Made an App!

This has been another exciting week for us! It started on Thursday with Jen buying a super cool e-bike at OKI Bike and Paddle Co. She’ll get Dave on it one of these days! Thank you Dixon for helping choose just the right helmet.

Friday we went to the Southport Spring Festival, it was a beautiful day for it. There was a tremendous about of vendors and lots of food options to choose from! We ran into friends, held a very large albino python named Lily and even took our photo with the Easter Bunny!

Friday evening we went to the Ocean Crest Pier to listen to the Chris and Sandy Duo perform, they were fantastic. We just listed the music line-up for Ocean Crest Pier so be sure to check that out.

After the pier we went to The Oak Island Deli & Pub. Justin Crissman graciously invited us to come listen to him play. This was our first time at Oak Island Deli & Pub. We had dinner there while enjoying Justin’s beautiful voice and guitar playing. The food was fantastic and the service was out of this world! We will definitely be back!

After having dinner at Oak Island Deli we headed back into Southport to catch the tail end of Rev and the Flying Flamingos at Southport Tap and Cellar. It’s great that Southport Tap and Cellar has such a big stage outside for everyone to enjoy the music.

Saturday, Rob and Jen went for a bike ride with Jen’s new bike from OKI Bike and Paddle CO and rode to the new Seaside Mermaid for coffee and sweets. If you haven’t been there, you must try it out, the coffee drinks are amazing and the homemade donuts and sweets are delicious! They also have ice cream, truffles and so much more!

Saturday night Jen and Rob met up with Dave at Second Wind to see Steel County Express, they were bringing down the house as always! The dance floor was jam packed and boots were stompin’!

The biggest news of all is that our app is finally in the Apple App Store! It takes a lot of work to get an app approved and we could not have done it without Rob’s help! We are excited that now everyone with an Apple phone can have TheEventGuide.com right at their fingertips! Be sure to go to the app store to download our app!
(We are working on bringing you the android version.)

On top of that, we have hit over 1,100 events listed on TheEventGuide.com Event Calendar! Who says there is nothing to do around here? Our goal was to be at 1,000 by the end of this week, we are so proud we were able to surpass our goal. We work hard to bring you one place to see everything going on for Oak Island and Southport. Remember, “If it’s worth doing, it’s on TheEventGuide.com!”
