Jen and Dave can’t wait for Plein Air!
Jen and Dave are so excited that it’s time for Plein Air Festival again! Last year Southport was graced with perfect weather and so many amazing artists, both seasoned and new. Jen and Dave had never been to the Plein Air Festival so they really didn’t know what to expect.
It was such a nice surprise to be able to witness so many artists finding their inspiration and proceeding to create stunning pieces of art in picturesque spots all around Southport. The artists Jen and Dave spoke to were thrilled to speak with several of the artists and watch them work. The Festival culminated in the much anticipated Wet Paint Sale where artists sell the works that they created over the previous few days. Jen managed to snag herself a masterpiece that now adorns her living room wall!

“Up Your Arts and the City of Southport are looking forward to hosting the 2023 Southport Plein Air Festival again in beautiful downtown Southport, May 18-20, 2023.
We had so much fun last time, we are adding another day to the format this year and leaving it up to individual artists to decide: two days of painting or three? Friday – Saturday for $50 or Thursday – Saturday for $75 (no charge for the gorgeous Thursday night sunset).
The 2023 Southport Plein Air Festival is open to all paint artists. It is a non-juried event, with merit and People’s Choice awards conferred by local judges. Winners will be registered in the 2024 Southport Plein Air Festival free of charge.
There is no limit on medium, quantity or size. Painters retain all proceeds from the sale of their work during the Wet Paint Sale, which is moving to a bigger park this year, so there is also no limit on capacity.
