Jen and Dave are in Full Holiday Swing

We had a crazy busy weekend!
Friday
The weekend started with us riding our e-bikes in the Southport Light Up the Night Christmas Parade. Even though it was a bit chilly outside, it was a great time and we could not believe how many people participated on their golf carts and bikes.

Saturday
We started the day by going to the pancake breakfast with Santa and a pirate at the Oak Island VFW. The VFW pancake breakfast is always delicious, be sure to check it out on Saturday mornings. After that we made a quick stop to have our photos taken with the Grinch on the beach before heading to the annual Southport Christmas Festival at Franklin Square Park. After doing some shopping and picking up some gifts, we headed to the Ponies and Presents event at Wild Horse Preserve at Grayce Wynd farm. There we were able to pet ponies, Jen did not get Dave to ride one, next time! We also took a hayride to Winter Wonderland. All the proceeds of the event went to the care of the horses. After all that we made it back to Oak Island in time to see Santa skydive and land on the beach right in front of The Lazy Turtle. We finished the night by participating in the Southport Flotilla aboard the Kopasedik operated by Nautical Hosting.

Sunday
We hosted our first ever gingerbread building event and contest. It was a big success and we had a ton of fun. We had the Mayor of Oak Island, Liz White as our special guest judge. We even had a special visit from The Lazy Turtle Santa! Everyone loved being able to make their houses with their friends and family and not have to have the mess at home. We hope to continue this tradition next year.

In the upcoming weeks we will be busy with more holiday events, private parties and some traveling so if you don’t see us out you can just check TheEventGuide.com to find everything going on.
